Virtual Interview Preparation (Storyline 360)
Problem: Indeed did a study in 2021 and found that 82% of employers are conducting virtual interviews. How can candidates be sure they are prepared for a successful interview?
Solution: This scenario-based quiz will see just how prepared you are. The informational tab interaction at the end will review six important virtual interview tips to ensure the interview goes smoothly and you make a good first impression with your potential employer.
Design: I already had an infographic I created on Canva with virtual interview tips to use for this project’s outline. First, I created a tab interaction on Storyline 360 using those tips and decided to use a character for the user to interact with content. I went through an iterative process to build the character, her expressions, clothing and background for each interview tip.
I had fun using exaggerated facial expressions and poses to make the interaction more interesting for users. I created some multiple choice questions and had fun executing (and troubleshooting) an interaction in which users are presented with a scene of a candidate’s virtual interview setup and must select what the person is doing wrong. It was challenging to find a way to get the interaction to work as I had visualized. Thanks to E-Learning Heroes, I was able to troubleshoot and solve my problem while learning more about the endless possibilities Storyline 360 has to offer. What a feeling of accomplishment to preview the slide and experience my vision come to life!
I experimented with tracking learner responses and scoring with this project. It was a challenge getting the variables to work as planned, but after reading some articles and posts on E-Learning Heroes, I decided to use intervals of high, medium and low scores to track learner progress and provide feedback.
Overall, this project was not only a lot of fun to create but also enabled me to develop my skills building interactions on Storyline.
